Some days ago I found out something really cool: PLUGEDU - The Social Network for Educators - If you are an educator and live in Brazil, this is your chance to know other teachers around the country through a very intuitive network. PLUGEDU has forums to discuss anything you want, you can also create topics about any subject and the opportunity of meeting new educators from other states in Brazil is really awesome! There is also the possibility of joining groups according to your interest, a live chat and the opportunity of being up to date about conferences, talks and presentations. I encourage you to register and get to know how it works. It has a very simplistic design but do not be mistaken, it is a very powerful source of learning and teacher training. 9th SOUTHERN CONE TESOL CONVENTION–CURITIBA

This year BRAZ-TESOL is organizing the 9th Southern Cone Tesol Convention “Leading Stars of Teaching”, which will be held in Curitiba, from July 18-20 at PUCPR Campus – Curitiba, Prado Velho.
As we know, the convention promotes the discussion of theoretical and practical issues related to the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages.
It is a great opportunity for you to get together with other teachers, exchange ideas and learn a lot from the specialists in ELT who will be giving specialized courses. Take a look at the convention fees below:

LAELI 2010 - Linguística Aplicada ao Educador de Língua Inglesa - UFPE- 2nd DAY

Hello Teachers!

So here I am to talk about the second day of the LAELI 2010 event. As I already told you about on the last post, lots of talks, presentations, projects were part of this awesome symposium. The second day wouldn't be different. The Friday morning started with a round table about Motivating Students to write in the public sector - an impossible task?, with Prof. Ms. Julia Larré as you can see on the pictures below:

In the afternoon, at 3:30 p.m., there were 3 workshops. The one I chose was about A importância da Fonética e Fonologia no Ensino da Língua Inglesa with Prof. Ms. Carlos Leite from Cultura Inglesa. 

The last talk was given by Prof. Ms. Ilana de Belli Claudino, Espec. Antônio José de Almeida Júnior and Espec. Fernanda Araújo Bonfim about Educação Ambiental, História, Geografia do Brasil e Língua Portuguesa: uma rica Experiência Interdisciplinar em Escola Bilíngue. The presentation had a special guest, a 4th grade student who presented for the first time, a project at a university. Check it out!
